By now, you may have heard the excitement developing over this year’s upcoming “Grad Night” celebration.  However, you may be wondering what the buzz is all about.

Grad Night is an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime, all-night event designed to provide a fun and safe environment for newly graduated seniors to celebrate one last night together with all of their friends and classmates before moving on to the next great chapter in their lives!

Statistics show that Graduation Night is one of the highest risk nights for teens to be involved in negative activities such as drinking and driving. Peer-pressure is also a factor found to be extremely high on this night. As such, the Grad Night concept initially came to fruition through the hard work and efforts of a group of parents concerned about the safety and well-being of their children (ahem, young adults) on this monumental night.  Now, events such as this have become a staple for graduating seniors throughout the United States. Not only do they provide a safe and sober environment, they are also spectacularly fun!

Grad Night is .. One more time to be with all of your friends, one last chance to have a fun evening all together, one last moment to be a student and a Woodbridge Warrior.  One more opportunity to make lifelong memories, to make future plans, to reminisce and to “remember when”, to take photos together, to say, “So long until I see you again” ~ and one more chance to:  “have fun and just be a kid!”

Grad Night – Warrior Style!

Voted “Best Graduation Party” by IUSD’s Board, Woodbridge High School has been producing spectacular Grad Night celebrations on campus for more than 28 years.  We are very proud of the popularity and tradition of these events as well as the special feedback we receive from our Warrior attendees - “I had so much fun!” - “I am so glad I was there!” -  “I wish I could do it all over again!” – “There is so much to do, you can’t possibly do it all!” …and more!  Where else can you celebrate a night with all of your High school friends!

At WHS, it’s also more than "just a party." Grad Night is a commitment by parents, school administration and the community, who join together and create something truly special for our new graduates. It enables students to unite one last time as the “Class of 2020” and to build on a spirit of togetherness, while making memories that will last a lifetime.

As in the past, this dynamic event includes the largest and most diverse array of attractions and entertainment in the region, including food, friends, attractions, games, rides, music, dancing, crafts, raffles, prizes, memory making and much, much more,  - there is truly something for everyone!

WHS Grad Night is the place to be, because everyone is going!

The Fine Print

The Grad Night event begins at 10 p.m. and ends at 5:00 a.m., allowing families the opportunity to enjoy dinner and/or plenty of time together after the Graduation Ceremony.  And we will even serve breakfast before sending your teen home!

Parents will be notified if their graduate fails to arrive or desires to leave.  Since safety is of our utmost concern, we require that all students arrive between 10:00 -10:45pm at the latest (or they will not be admitted) and stay (they may not leave)  until 5:00am.

This policy helps insure that our new graduates, (our Children), return home to their families, both safe and sound on a night universally known for teen celebrations and parties, and the inherent risks that go along.

(You will not receive a physical ticket to attend Grad Night.)

What time does Grad Night Start and where do I go to get in?  Grad Night begins at 10:00pm on June 6th (Graduation Day). The entrance is at the front of WHS by the flagpole. You will be given a Grad Night photo ID and number when you check in at the Registration Desk. You will have the opportunity to place personal belongings such as keys, wallets, phone chargers, sweatshirts, etc. in a bag that will be labeled with your Grad Night ID number. These bags will be stored in the Bag Room and can be accessed after 11:30pm. Adult volunteers will supervise the Bag Room during the entire event. Attendees must show their Grad Night photo ID to access their bag.

What is the latest time that I can arrive at Grad Night?  10:45pm. All attendees must be checked in by 11:00pm. Please arrive at 10:00pm so you don’t miss any of the fun. No one will be admitted after 11:00pm.

We encourage parents to drop off and pick up Grad Night attendees. Attendees will be up all night, and may be too tired to drive in the early morning. If you do drive yourself, please try to carpool and park in either the tennis court or LDS (Mormon) Church parking lots.

When does Grad Night End?  Grad Night ends at 5:00am on June 5th. If you want to leave before 5:00am and you are over 18, you may leave; however, we will call your parents or guardians to let them know you have left Grad Night. If you are under 18, you may only leave before 5:00am if you are picked up by a parent or guardian. Once you leave Grad Night you will not be readmitted.

What should I wear to Grad Night?  Comfortable clothes, sneakers or closed toe, flat shoes (no sandals).  Bring a sweatshirt or jacket as this event is almost entirely held outside. Attendees will be walking around, dancing,  and riding rides.  It gets cool as the night goes on, please dress accordingly. You can store your sweatshirt or jacket in the Bag Room and access it as needed.

What should I bring to Grad Night?  Bring your cell phone (fully charged) and a sweatshirt or jacket. That’s it! There may be activities during Grad Night that involve texting and accessing the internet. If you don’t have access to a texting device, please send an email to info@woodbridgegradnight.org before June 1st to let us know. There will be "Charging Stations" available for attendees to use at their own risk. Grad Night is not responsible for phones left unattended or phones not charging properly.

Do I need Money at Grad Night?  No! All activities, food and entertainment are included in the price of your ticket. You will be given "fun money" to purchase chips to play in the Casino and you can use your winnings to purchase raffle tickets to win prizes. You will also win raffle tickets when playing games. All attendees are automatically entered into the drawing for the Grand Prizes at 4:30am. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE GRAND PRIZE DRAWING TO WIN.

How can I get photos taken at the event?  We encourage all attendees to bring cell phones, take pictures throughout the event, and share them via Instagram, tagging them with #whsgrad20. You will be able to print your 3 favorite photos on site during Grad Night at the Party Print Photo Cube (requires your Instagram profile to be Public). All photographs taken by Grad Night volunteers will be uploaded to a photo sharing website as well as tagged in Instagram. Instructions on how to access those photos will be available at the Grad Night website www.woodbridgegradnight.org a few days after the event.  (This activity subject to change.)

How do I win prizes and where do I pick them up?  You enter to win prizes by winning raffle tickets when playing games or by "purchasing" raffle tickets at the Raffle exchange with your Casino winnings. You put your raffle tickets (write your name and Grad Night number on the back of the ticket) in the bag for the prize you wish to win at the Prize table. There will be a prize drawing at 1:00am and then again at 2:30am. Winners will be posted near the prize table and announced by the DJ. Prizes will be distributed at the end of the night from the Bag Room upon dismissal. You must show your Grad Night ID to pick-up your prize. Historically, there have been over $10,000 worth of prizes!

How do I contact a Grad Night attendee in an emergency?  Detailed information will be provided closer to date of event.  We will find the attendee and have them contact you.

NOTE – even though you have graduated, the IUSD/WHS behavioral code of conduct and rules still apply to you. If anyone comes to Grad Night intoxicated, their parents or guardians will be contacted and they forfeit admission to the event. Grad Night is a fun, safe and sober celebration for all!

Please also note that some activities listed above are subject to change.
